Lord, I will not deceive myself by merely listening to the Word.
I will do what it says.
I know that if I only listen to the Word but do not do what it says,
then I am like a man who looks at his face in a mirror and, after looking at himself,
goes away and immediately forgets what he looks like.
I will look intently into the perfect law that gives freedom,
and continue to do this, not forgetting what I have heard, but doing it . . .
I will be blessed in what I do.
James 1:22-25
